HSE - Health, Safety and Environment

The environmental licensing of oil and gas companies has been gaining allies thanks to the Technical Cooperation Agreement (Acordo de Cooperação Técnica - ACT) between the Brazilian Oil, Gas and Biofuels Institute (Instituto Brasileiro de Petróleo, Gás e Biocombustíveis - IBP) and the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis - IBAMA). As a result, new legal instruments will be created and existing ones will be improved. PetroRio plays a leading role in regard to certain priority issues, as presented below:

Shoreline Protection
Plan

Through the identification of priority areas and the drawing up of a strategic guide, the plan reduces the environmental consequences of possible maritime oil spills.

Campos Basin Environmental
Education Program

A program designed to minimize social and environmental impacts on populations affected by oil and gas company operations in the Campos Basin region. It aims to build the autonomy of the individuals involved through the provision of infrastructure and the creation of a favorable scenario for jobs creation and income generation.
